May Breakfast Meeting

The monthly breakfast meeting will resume on May 12, 2012 at the Golden Corral beginning at 9:00AM. Our guest speakers will be candidates running for political office in the Republican Primary including Kent Kingsley, who is seeking to represent the Third District of Georgia in Congress. Please make plans to attend.

State Republican Convention on May 18-19, 2012

The Georgia Republican Party State Convention will convene at 2:00PM on Friday, May 18, 2012, in Columbus, Georgia and will elect a National Committeeman and a National Committewoman, as well as thirty-one [31] Delegates-at-Large and thirty-one [31] Alternate Delegates-at-Large to the Republican National Convention to be held the week of August 27, 2012 in Tampa, Florida.

All delegates and alternates should have already received registration forms for the State Convention though the mail. If you did not receive your delegate/alternate letter, please contact State Party HQ at 404.257.5559.

NOTE: NO REGISTRATION ALLOWED AFTER 10:00AM - NO EXCEPTIONS!

Qualifying for Republican Party Candidates in Coweta County

Qualifying for candidates running on the Republican ticket at the county level will begin at 9:00AM on May 23 and run through 12:00PM on May 25. The partisan county offices up for election this year (along with the corresponding qualifying fee) are as follows:

• County Commissioner (Districts 1, 4, and 5): $420.00
• Sheriff: $2,425.00
• Tax Commissioner: $2,173.00
• Clerk of Superior Court: $2,173.00
• Solicitor General: $3,043.00
• Coroner: $1,248.00
• Surveyor: $35.00

If you are interested in running for any of the above offices, you will need to obtain and fill out forms available from the county Republican Party chairman, Joe Beamon, beginning at 9:00AM on May 23, 2012.
